Developing visual representations of improvisation machines

Creating and working with improvisation machines opens up new ways of thinking of how we can embody music and be immersed in the act of improvising. The improvisation machine's identity plays between being an extension of the human performer's (mind)body, while at other times functioning as an externalized chamber music partner. How we choose to design and interact with our machines influences the expression of this fluid identity and causes us to reflect upon our own practices and identities as (post)human artists.
